Sword & Shield - Darkness Ablaze Product Images Revealed

Published on 11 May 2020 at 13:51

We have product images for the third Sword & Shield TCG set, Darkness Ablaze. This set will be partially based off the Japanese sets:

This set will release on August 14, 2020, 1 week later than the set normally would release. There's a chance it's due to the current Corona situation. Do note however that this set will be exactly legal upon rotation 2 weeks after it's release (legal 2 weeks after release). Maybe it has been done on purpose to match it with the start of the 2020-2021 Season.

Product images of Darkness Ablaze also have been revealed. Revealing and confirming the Pack arts of Gigantamax Centiskorch VMAX, Gigantamax Eternatus VMAX and Gigantamax Charizard VMAX and theme decks featuring Galarian Sirfetch'd and Galarian Darmanitan.

The Gigantamax Eternatus VMAX pack artwork (?) has not yet been revealed, maybe it's still too early to officially reveal by TPCi. We expect 4 pack artworks as usual.

Hatenna from the Checklane 1 pack blister is a Japanese Gym promo that has yet been unreleased. Pikachu is also a Gym Promo from an earlier Japanese Gym Promo set.

We will update you when TPCi has officially revealed Darkness Ablaze along with the official set information and full product line-up as a press release.

Trivia:

  • Darkness Ablaze is a synonym of Burning Shadows.
  • Burning Shadows introduced the Legendary Pokémon Necrozma GX in the set, Darkness Ablaze introduces the Legendary Pokémon Eternatus V and VMAX.
  • Burning Shadows introduced Charizard GX, Darkness Ablaze introduces Charizard V / VMAX.

There has got to be a RAINBOW RARE Charizard VMAX. And we need that Eternatus VMAX (ETERNAmax). Hopefully the 4th pack art is Eternatus
