Pokemon Worlds 2024 Coverage: Live Updates

It's that time of the year again! But now held in Honolulu!


Today, we'll be providing (potential) updates on the Pokemon TCG announcements / news presented in the Opening Ceremony livestream of the Pokemon World Championships 2024 Honolulu.

 

This article will be updated live based on the information unveiled during the Worlds 2024 livestreams. Stay tuned for further updates as the livestream progresses and be sure to connect with us on social media for the latest news.

Day 1


20:38 - Photo of the No. 1 Trainer, No. 2 Trainer & No. 3 Trainer (Trophy) cards for Pokemon World Championships 2024.

Also no longer mentions coming back next year, unlike previous years.

09:38 - The official Japanese Pokemon Card Game Youtube Channel will reveal the 'Latest Information' later at 14:30 JST (Japan Standard Time), on their Pokemon World Championships 2024 DAY 2 Livestream.


23:41 - Charizard ex and Pikachu ex 30-card Demo decks from the Play Lab event at Pokemon Worlds 2024.

07:52 - The official Japanese Pokemon Card Game Youtube Channel revealed more cards of their upcoming SV7a Scarlet & Violet - Paradise Dragona set. Including AR & SAR cards.  Check out our set list page for translations.


08:03 - For the release of Paradise Dragona, there will be a special 'Sealed Battle' tournaments including promos, at participating Pokémon Card Gym stores starting from September 13, 2024.

04:48 - The Worlds 2024 TCG champions have been revealed. Note: We unforunately had to sleep through the TCG finals stream due to timezone differences, so we had to post later.

  • Fernando Cifuentes (Chile) is the 2024 Pokémon TCG Masters Division World Champion with Iron Thorns ex.
  • Evan Pavelski (USA) is the 2024 Pokémon TCG Seniors Division World Champion with Regidrago VSTAR.
  • Sakuya Ota (Japan) is the 2024 Pokémon TCG Juniors Division World Champion with Roaring Moon ex.

05:45 - The Pokemon World Championships 2024 Closing Ceremony is about to start in less than 7 minutes.


06:05 - Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket Will release on October 30, 2024.

Do we know if the Pikachu ex from the Playlab demo decks is a non foil variant?
